cavernLincoln Caverns Discovered in May 1930 these crystal caverns attract viewers from all over; a wide variety of speleothems (cave formations), including delicate crystals, sparkling stalactites, and massive flowstones, await around every turn. 8.3 miles

bikeAllegrippis Biking Trail 30+ miles of multi-use trails designed by mountain bikers and built by the Friends of Raystown Lake volunteers and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Called “A roller coaster on 2 wheels” by some, the trails are designed for everyone with loops rated “easiest” to “most difficult” in the system. 18.2 miles

curveAltoona Curve Minor league baseball team based in Altoona, Pennsylvania, named after nearby Horseshoe Curve. The team, which plays in the Eastern League, is the Double-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates major-league club. stepsThousand Steps Created in 1936 as a means of transportation to work for the miners high up on the mountain. There are actually 1,043 steps in the Thousand Steps Trail; enjoy hiking up and around the mountain which is almost 800 ft in height. 6 miles

rothrockRothrock State Forest This state forest resides within the counties of Huntingdon, Mifflin, and Centre. Known mostly for its “Seven Mountains,” the Rothrock State Forest holds a lot of history, beauty, as well as many trails. The best known trail is the Mid State Trail that runs the length of Rothrock but there are many more trails to be found within its borders. 26 miles

Raystown Hiking Trails   
The Hillside Nature Trail – Begins at the Seven Points Visitors Center & winds through songbird habitat.

The Old Logger’s Trail – Located between the Seven Points Visitors Center & Susquehannock campground, this 5 mile trail is scenic and informative with exhibits along the path.

The Riverside Nature Trail – Located below the dam, this trail is known for “The Old Schoolhouse.”

Terrace Mountain Trail – An 18 mile trail with spectacular views of the lake & hushed solitude.
